Your android device must be rooted to install Google Assistant on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. I have tested and it worked on Samsung Galaxy J7 SM-J710FN that using TWRP custom Recovery and rooted it with SuperSU. I don’t write about how to flash TWRP Recovery and root it. I have created a video and you can watch it at the bottom of this post “how to install google assistant on android 6.0.1 marshmallow.”
Installing Google Assistant on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow follow these steps below:
- Download [MOD][Android 7.0+][arm][nodpi] G-Assistant v6.0_7.zip from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298925549
- Open TWRP Recovery and Install it after finish Restart the phone, after install the .zip file the google assistant does not activate, next step to activate it
- Open Settings -> Applications -> Default applications -> Device assistance app -> Device assistance app and select Google App, in this steps you will not see the Google Assistant, but you have activated Google App, to check it, long press Home button and you will see Google App. just left 1 steps to see Google Assistant.
- Now Open Play Store, then go to My apps & games and look for Google app then tap Update, wait a moment for downloading and installing Google app update.
- Done!
Long press Home button to see and meet your Google Assistant, each time you want to interact with your Google Assistant just long press the home button. Tested on Samsung Galaxy J7 SM-J710FN Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, installed TWRP Recovery and SuperSU rooted. It maybe works for other Android devices.
