Samsung Galaxy J4 SM-J400G 2018 Hard Reset

How to hard reset Samsung Galaxy J4 SM-J400G and enter Recovery Mode, Soft reset, Download Mode and Remove forgotten unlock Pattern. We can do it with 2 ways by pressing combinations of external hardware keys ( hard reset ) and from Settings menu ( soft reset ). Make sure to back up important data. The data can not be recovered after perform a hard reset.

Recovery Mode Samsung Galaxy J4 SM-J400G

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Connected USB Cable to PC
  3. Press and hold Volume Down + Home key together then while pressing these keys connecting the phone to PC with USB Cable Data
  4. Release all keys when Download Mode appears.
  5. Use Volume keys to select Menu
  6. Use Power key to Confirm

Download Mode or ODIN Mode

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Connected USB Cable to PC
  3. Press and hold Volume Down + Home key together then while pressing these keys connecting the phone to PC with USB Cable Data
  4. Release all keys when Download Mode appears.
  5. Use Volume Up key to continue
  6. Use Volume Down key to cancel ( Restart the device )

Warning! If you perform a hard reset, make sure to back up important data. The data can not be recovered after perform a hard reset.

Hard reset Samsung Galaxy J4 SM-J400G using External Keys ( remove your forgotten pattern unlock )

  1. In Recovery Mode, use Volume keys to select wipe data / factory reset
  2. Press Power key to confirm
  3. Use Volume keys to select Yes — delete all user data
  4. Press power key to confirm
  5. Use Volume keys to select Reboot system now
  6. Press power key to confirm

Soft reset from Settings Menu

  1. Turn on the device
  2. Select Apps
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Backup and reset ( Android 7: General Management )
  5. Select Factory data reset ( Android 7: Reset )
  6. Select Reset device ( Android 7: Factory data reset )
  7. Select Erase Everything ( Android 7: Reset )
