How to Root Galaxy A50 BTH5 Firmware Android 10 Q ( Android Security Patch Level 2020-08-01 ). It may be works for other variants SM-A505F, SM-A505FN, SM-A505GN, SM-A505G, SM-A505GT, SM-A505FM, SM-A505YN. This Root method use latest TWRP 3.4.0.0 and Magisk patched. Read notes / Warning on the bottom of this post before perform root your Samsung Galaxy A50. Use it at your own risk! Follow the instruction carefully and Make sure to backup all your important data!

Rooting Galaxy A50 Android 10 Q BTH5 firmware:

    1. Make sure the bootloader are unlocked, OEM unlock option is grey out
    2. Enter Download Mode : Turn Power Off. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down key together, while pressing these keys, connect the phone to computer, then press volume up once.
    3. Open ODIN, IMPORTANT!: Uncheck “Auto Reboot” in Options!
    4. Flashing A50_TWRP_3.4.0.0_Magisk_Patched.tar as AP in ODIN, then click start.
    5. Magisk is now successfully flashed to your device! Several steps before you can properly use the device.
    6. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! Press and hold Volume Down + Power Key, when the screen blank quickly press and hold Volume Up + Power key, when Samsung Logo appears release Power key only, keep pressing Volume Up key until TWRP Recovery Mode Appears.
    7. Select Wipe -> Format data, type ‘yes’ and confirm
    8. Copy multidisabler-samsung-2.2.zip to phone, ignore this if you copied to SD Card
    9. Select Install ( If file in SD Card: Select Storage – Micro SD card – OK ) – select multidisabler-samsung-2.2.zip Swipe to confirm Flash
    10. Select Reboot to System
    11. When SAMSUNG logo appears wait for a few seconds then press and hold volume down + power key until the screen blank
    12. Setup the phone
    13. Enter TWRP recovery : Turn Power Off. Press and hold Volume Up key + Power Key, When SAMSUNG logo appears release Power Key only, keep pressing Volume Up key until TWRP recovery appears.
    14. Select Reboot to – Recovery
    15. Connect the phone to Internet
    16. Install Magisk Manager. Magisk Manager will ask to do additional setups. Let it do its job and the app will automatically reboot your device.
    17. Done! You can use Root Checker to check it, Enjoy!

If something goes wrong and you want to unroot it, just flash the ROM to make it works again. Read How to flash Galaxy A50.

Notes / Warning!

  1. Use at your own risk, I’m not responsible for bricking your device.
  2. Using the incorrect file may brick your device.
  3. If your target device has a custom firmware flash counter, Rooting will trigger it. If you’re lucky, Triangle Away has support for your device and can be used to reset the counter.
  4. If you have a KNOX-enabled device, Rooting will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status !
  5. If your device storage is encrypted, Rooting will wipe your data !
  6. If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device – with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically “OEM unlock” and wipe your data !
  7. Make sure to backup your important data before root it.
