Samsung Galaxy A50s: Root BTI1 Firmware with Magisk v21.0 Android 10

How to Root Galaxy A50s BTI1 Firmware with Magisk v21.0 Android 10 Q Security Patch Level 2020-09-01. It uses TWRP 3.4.0.0 ( patched magisk ) + Quantum Kernel v1.50 (by halcyon441). After flash TWRP Recovery you can Install custom ROM. It may be work for A50s variants SM-A507FN and SM-A507F. Read notes / Warning on the bottom of this post before flashing TWRP on your Samsung Galaxy A50s. Use it at your own risk! Follow the instruction carefully and Make sure to backup all your important data!

Flashing TWRP 3.4.0.0, Quantum Kernel and Root Galaxy A50s Android 10:

  1. Make sure the bootloader are unlocked, OEM unlocking option is grey out
  2. Enter Download Mode : Turn Power Off. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down key together, while pressing these keys, connect the phone to computer, then press volume up once.
  3. Open ODIN, IMPORTANT!: Uncheck “Auto Reboot” in Options!
  4. Flashing TWRP_3.4.0.0_A50s_Magisk.tar as AP in ODIN,
  5. Click Start button
  6. Magisk is now successfully flashed to your device! Several steps before you can properly use the device.
  7. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! Press and hold Volume Down + Power Key, when the screen blank quickly press and hold Volume Up + Power key, when Samsung Logo appears release Power key only, keep pressing Volume Up key until TWRP Recovery Mode Appears.
  8. Select Install ( If file in SD Card: Select Storage – Micro SD card – OK ) – select QuantumKernelv1.50_A50sxx.zip Swipe to confirm Flash
  9. Select Wipe -> Format data, type ‘yes’ and confirm ( you can do it after or before install quantum kernel )
  10. Select Install ( If file in SD Card: Select Storage – Micro SD card – OK ) – select Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_01.14.2020.zip Swipe to confirm Flash
  11. Select Reboot to Recovery
  12. Connect the Phone to Internet
  13. Open Magisk Manager, It will ask to do additional setups. Let it do its job and the app will automatically reboot your device.
  14. Open Magisk Manager, go to Settings – Update Channel: select “Beta”
  15. Update Magisk Manager and Magisk
  16. Done!

If something goes wrong and you want to unroot it, just flash the ROM to make it works again. Read How to flash Galaxy A50s.

Notes / Warning!

  1. Use at your own risk, I’m not responsible for bricking your device.
  2. Using the incorrect file may brick your device.
  3. If your target device has a custom firmware flash counter, Rooting will trigger it. If you’re lucky, Triangle Away has support for your device and can be used to reset the counter.
  4. If you have a KNOX-enabled device, Rooting will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status !
  5. If your device storage is encrypted, Rooting will wipe your data !
  6. If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device – with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically “OEM unlock” and wipe your data !
  7. Make sure to backup your important data before root it.
